India’s intra-squad match: India captain Shubman Gill and KL Rahul got among the runs during Friday's intra-squad practice match between India and India A at the Kent County Cricket Ground in Beckenham. Shardul Thakur had a good day with the ball, while the Indian batting mainstays struck half-centuries as shared by BCCI on social media.

While India A and England Lions trip matches were streamed on JioHotstar, the intra-squad match has not been granted media or broadcasting rights by the BCCI. Hence, no official match statistics or scorecard is available.

Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal are almost certain to start the innings together in the Test matches. Rahul played in the second unofficial Test match against the England Lions, during which he scored a ton.

It's a fantastic start to the tour for Gill, who was given team leadership responsibilities after Rohit Sharma's retirement from the format. Having only amassed 88 runs from three Test matches played in England, with 28 being his highest total, Gill doesn't carry a noteworthy record outside the sub-continent. In order to improve his overseas reputation, the new captain has a huge task ahead of him.

Meanwhile, a player or a support staff member will be available to the media on the last day of the game to provide updates on player performances.

Prior to the commencement of the Test series, the intra-squad match provides the players with a chance to adjust to the English conditions.

Ahead of the match the players and member of the support staff wore black armbands and observed a minute's silence in remembrance of the victims of the Air India plane crash, the visuals of which were shared by the BCCI.

India's five-match Test series gets underway at Headingley in Leeds from June 20.
