Varuthini Ekadashi is one of the highly sacred fasting days dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In 2025, Varuthini Ekadashi will be observed on Thursday, April 24, followed by Parana (fast-breaking) on Friday, April 25.
Varuthini Ekadashi falls during the Krishna Paksha (waning phase of the moon). It is observed in the month of Vaishakha according to the North Indian Purnimanta calendar and Chaitra as per the South Indian Amanta calendar. Despite these calendar differences, Varuthini Ekadashi is observed on the same day across India.
This Ekadashi holds special spiritual importance and is believed to bestow protection (Varuthini means ‘armoured’ or ‘protected’), fortune, and liberation from sins.
