Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced the development of a grand Tameshwar Corridor in Sant Kabir Nagar district, modeled after the iconic Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. The project is aimed at reviving religious tourism and enhancing the spiritual and cultural appeal of the region.

Speaking at a public gathering, CM Yogi emphasized that Tameshwar Dham, believed to be associated with Mata Kunti from Hindu mythology, will be developed as a major spiritual hub. He recalled visiting the site years ago and expressed his commitment to preserving its religious significance while upgrading it with modern amenities.

The chief minister said, “Just as we transformed Kashi Vishwanath, enabling over 5,000 devotees to visit comfortably at once—up from just 50 earlier—we are committed to building the Tameshwar Corridor with the same devotion and scale.”

Religious Tourism as a Pillar of Development

CM Yogi underscored the importance of religious tourism in Uttar Pradesh, citing examples of the ongoing development at Ayodhya Ram Temple and Maa Vindhyavasini Temple. These projects, he said, are a part of the broader vision of the double-engine government to promote heritage and economic growth simultaneously.

In addition to the temple project, CM Yogi announced that Sant Kabir Nagar will be connected to the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, a move expected to improve regional connectivity, attract more pilgrims, and create fresh opportunities for economic development in the area.

Prayer at Gorakhnath Temple

Following the announcement, the chief minister offered prayers at the Gorakhnath Temple, reinforcing the message of spiritual revival through infrastructure development. The proposed Tameshwar Corridor in Sant Kabir Nagar promises to become a spiritual landmark, blending religious reverence with modern infrastructure. As CM Yogi spearheads this ambitious plan, it marks another step in transforming Uttar Pradesh into a leading destination for pilgrimage tourism and cultural heritage.
