PM Modi Inaugurates Redeveloped Deshnok Station Near Karni Mata Temple

In a major push to improve religious tourism and regional connectivity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the redeveloped Deshnok Railway Station in Rajasthan. The station is located near the famed Karni Mata Temple, a major pilgrimage site in Bikaner, and is expected to ease travel for thousands of devotees and visitors.

Deshnok Station plays a key role in facilitating access to Karni Mata Temple, known for its unique spiritual legacy. The station’s redevelopment is part of a broader initiative to enhance religious tourism through better infrastructure and passenger convenience.

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Deshnok station has been upgraded with features designed to serve a New India:

• Digital coach display boards for better boarding experience
• Three ticket counters, up from just one earlier
• Improved signage for easy navigation
• Barrier-free access, ensuring facilities for differently abled passengers
• Covered platforms to provide protection from weather

Dedicated parking space for improved traffic flowThe redevelopment of Deshnok Station is part of the launch of 103 Amrit Stations across 86 districts in 18 states and Union Territories, inaugurated by PM Modi from Bikaner. This infrastructure drive, costing over Rs 1,100 crore, aims to transform key railway hubs into modern, passenger-friendly spaces. Deshnok currently has a single platform, but construction of another platform is underway. This expansion will allow more trains to halt, boosting accessibility and convenience for pilgrims and tourists alike.

While Deshnok may be a smaller station, it holds immense significance for regional growth. With enhanced connectivity to the Karni Mata Temple, the revamped station is expected to drive local employment, boost religious tourism, and contribute to inclusive economic development.
