Ghatasthapana marks the beginning of Navratri 2025 and is performed on the Pratipada Tithi of Shardiya Navratri. The ritual involves installing a Kalash filled with water, mango leaves, and coconut, representing the dwelling of Goddess Durga. Scriptures strictly forbid performing Ghatasthapana during Amavasya, nighttime, or after sixteen Ghatis from sunrise.
