"Around 20-25 daily flights will operate to Prayagraj for the next 45 days, with additional flights expected to operate around auspicious dates. We expect a peak of 30 flights to land in a day at the airport," Prayagraj Airport Director Mukesh Chandra Upadhyay told Moneycontrol.

In a significant move to support pilgrims attending the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan has announced free accommodation and food facilities for residents of the state. This initiative is aimed at ensuring that pilgrims from Rajasthan can participate in the religious gathering with ease and comfort, without financial burdens hindering their spiritual journey.

The Maha Kumbh, which began on January 13 and will continue until February 26, is one of the most significant events in Indian culture. It attracts millions of devotees, saints, and seers from across the globe to the sacred Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers converge.

The Maha Kumbh is not just a religious event but a manifestation of the core ideals of Indian culture. According to Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, the Kumbh Mela represents the doctrine of "Ekatmata" – the universal oneness of the soul. Speaking at an event organised by the Sanskriti Foundation and Bharatiya Vichar Manch in Gujarat, he highlighted how the Kumbh transcends caste and societal divisions, bringing millions together as devotees united in faith.

“Maha Kumbh is the manifestation of the basic ideals of Indian culture where all diversity ends,” he said. “In India, we see God in every being, and this unique perspective can show the path to the world.”

The 2025 Maha Kumbh has already witnessed grand events, including a procession to mark the arrival of Jagatguru Shankaracharya Dwarka Sharda Pithadhish Swami Shri Sadananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj into the Shankaracharya camp. The procession, known as Shobha Yatra, featured saints and sadhus from all 13 Akharas and the Panch Agni Akhara, adding to the spiritual fervour.

The Shankaracharya Maharaj, now stationed at the camp, will offer blessings and darshan to devotees daily, said Swamishree Sadanand Saraswati Maharaj. The fair administration, in collaboration with religious leaders, has extended a warm welcome to this significant event, ensuring smooth arrangements for the devotees.

The Rajasthan government’s initiative to provide free accommodation and food at the Maha Kumbh 2025 is a testament to its commitment to supporting its people in experiencing this grand spiritual event. With a focus on unity, devotion, and cultural pride, the Maha Kumbh continues to stand as a beacon of Indian traditions, drawing millions to the sacred Triveni Sangam for an unparalleled spiritual journey.
