The Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj has brought together millions of devotees, saints, and spiritual leaders. Among them, a 3.5-year-old saint named Shravan Puri has caught everyone’s attention. He is the youngest Baba in the Juna Akhara, one of the largest groups of saints at the event.

A Young Baba with a Unique Lifestyle

Shravan Puri Baba has already been recognised as a saint by the Juna Akhara. Despite being so young, his behaviour reflects a spiritual life. Unlike most children of his age, Shravan Puri prefers fruits over chocolates and spends his time playing with his Guru brothers in the camp.

The Maha Kumbh is held every 12 years and is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. Devotees come to Prayagraj to take a holy dip at the Sangam, the meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the now-dry Saraswati rivers. This year, the Maha Kumbh started on 13 January and will end on 26 February 2025. Over 45 crore devotees are expected to attend. Key bathing dates, called Shahi Snan, are:

  • 14 January: Makar Sankranti
  • 29 January: Mauni Amavasya
  • 3 February: Basant Panchami

The Uttar Pradesh government has made extensive arrangements for the event. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently flagged off special shuttle and electric buses, called 'Atal Seva,' to help devotees travel within Prayagraj. With over 40 crore people expected to attend, facilities like sanitation, transportation, and crowd management are being closely managed.
