Thousands of devotees gathered at Har Ki Pauri ghat in Haridwar on Wednesday to take a holy dip in the sacred Ganga River on the auspicious occasion of Magh Purnima. The event witnessed a massive congregation of pilgrims offering prayers and performing religious rituals.

Visuals from Har Ki Pauri depicted an overwhelming crowd of worshippers, reflecting their deep faith and devotion. The holy dip on Magh Purnima is believed to cleanse one's sins and bestow spiritual blessings.

Alongside Haridwar, Prayagraj also experienced a significant influx of devotees participating in Magh Purnima snan as part of the ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025. The grand spiritual gathering has drawn pilgrims from across the country and beyond.

One of the devotees, Aadesh Kumar, who traveled from Delhi, praised the arrangements made for the festival. "I have come here with my family for the snan on Magh Purnima. The management and facilities here are excellent," he shared.

Another devotee, Diwakar Yadav, who took a holy dip at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, said, "I performed my snan at 3 a.m. today. The crowd is comparatively less than on Mauni Amavasya, but the arrangements remain well-organized."

Magh Purnima marks a vital bathing festival in the Hindu calendar. This year, the event saw flower petals being showered on devotees and ascetics as they took the sacred dip at Triveni Sangam.

According to official reports, over 48.83 million devotees have taken a holy dip so far during the Maha Kumbh 2025. The total number of pilgrims visiting the mela grounds has reached 38.83 million, while more than 10 million Kalpvasis have settled in the area for their month-long spiritual stay. Since the beginning of the festival, the cumulative number of devotees who have performed snan has surpassed 462.5 million as of February 11, 2025.

The footfall is expected to increase further as more auspicious bathing dates approach in the coming days.

Monika, a devotee who came for the Magh Purnima snan, expressed her appreciation for the arrangements. "The government has made exceptional efforts. The experience here has been truly divine," she said while speaking to ANI.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath closely monitored the Magh Purnima snan at the Sangam from his office. He also extended his wishes to the people on social media. In a heartfelt message on platform X, he wrote:

"Hearty congratulations to all devotees and residents of the state on the holy bathing festival Magh Purnima! My respects to the revered saints, religious leaders, Kalpvasis, and devotees who have come for the sacred bath in Triveni at Maha Kumbh 2025, Prayagraj. May Lord Shri Hari bless everyone with happiness, prosperity, and good fortune. May Mother Ganga, Mother Yamuna, and Mother Saraswati fulfill everyone’s wishes."

Maha Kumbh 2025, which commenced on Paush Purnima (January 13, 2025), is renowned as the world's largest spiritual and cultural congregation. The festival, attracting millions of devotees, will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26, 2025.

With the ongoing religious fervor and well-managed facilities, the event continues to uphold its significance as a profound spiritual experience for millions seeking divine blessings and purification through the sacred waters.
