Choghadiya Muhurat for Kajari Teej Puja

Devotees follow the Panchang to determine the most auspicious Choghadiya Muhurat for performing the Kajari Teej Puja. All timings are observed in local time, considering Daylight Saving Time (if applicable).

Significance of Kajari Teej

Kajari Teej is the second major Teej celebrated during the monsoon season, following Hariyali Teej. It is usually observed three days after Raksha Bandhan and five days before Krishna Janmashtami.

Women observe Nirjala Vrat (fast without food and water) and pray for the longevity and prosperity of their husbands. In some traditions, unmarried girls also observe this fast to be blessed with a good life partner.

Kajari Teej Celebrations Across India

  • Rajasthan: Women dress in traditional attire, apply mehendi, and participate in folk songs and dances.
  • Uttar Pradesh & Bihar: Devotees sing Kajari songs, narrate the Kajari Teej Katha, and gather for community prayers.
  • Madhya Pradesh: Women visit temples and offer prayers to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva.
Difference Between Kajari Teej & Hariyali Teej

While Hariyali Teej is also called Chhoti Teej, Kajari Teej is popularly known as Badi Teej. Both festivals celebrate the bond of love and devotion between husband and wife, but their dates and rituals differ.

Apart from Hariyali Teej and Kajari Teej, another important celebration is Hartalika Teej. Other festivals like Akha Teej (Akshaya Tritiya) and Gangaur Tritiya are also observed but follow different customs.
