1. Ganesh Visarjan on Ganesh Chaturthi
Some devotees perform Visarjan on the very same day of Ganesh Chaturthi, right after Ganesh Puja. This tradition, though less common, is still followed in a few households.
2. One and Half Day Ganesh Visarjan
Also known as “Dhupatichi Visarjan”, this ritual is performed the next day after Ganesh Chaturthi. Devotees install the idol on Ganesh Chaturthi and immerse it the following afternoon after Madhyahna Puja.
3. 3rd, 5th, and 7th Day Ganesh Visarjan
Many families immerse Ganesha idols on the 3rd, 5th, or 7th day, as per their traditions. These odd-numbered days are considered spiritually significant.
4. Ganesh Visarjan on Anant Chaturdashi (11th Day)
The most popular and significant day for Ganesh Visarjan is Anant Chaturdashi, which falls on the 11th day from Ganesh Chaturthi. This day also marks the worship of Lord Vishnu in his Anant form. Devotees observe a day-long fast and tie a sacred thread, believed to protect them from troubles.
