Buddha Purnima, the most sacred day for Buddhists across the globe, is being celebrated with great devotion on Monday, May 12, 2025, to mark the 2587th birth anniversary of Lord Gautama Buddha. The day commemorates the birth, enlightenment (nirvana), and death (parinirvana) of Siddhartha Gautama, who later came to be known as the Buddha — the Enlightened One.
