Bali Pratipada 2025: Bali Pratipada is also known as Bali Puja, is celebrated on the first day of Kartik Pratipada, right after Diwali Puja. This festival coincides with Govardhan Puja and holds special significance for devotees seeking blessings from Demon King Bali. While Govardhan Puja honors Lord Krishna and Govardhan Hill, Bali Puja is dedicated to the benevolent king Bali, whose generosity and devotion are remembered every year.

Bali Pratipada 2025 Date and Time 

According to Hindu legends, during the Vamana Avatar of Lord Vishnu, Demon King Bali was pushed to Patala (the underworld). Pleased with his devotion, Lord Vishnu granted him permission to visit Bhulok (Earth) for three days every year. During these days, it is believed that King Bali blesses his devotees, making this festival highly auspicious for worship and offerings.

Rituals and Traditions

On Bali Pratipada, devotees draw an image of King Bali at the center of their homes along with his wife, Vindhyavali. The image is decorated with five different colors and worshipped with devotion. This ritual is performed to seek prosperity, well-being, and protection for the family.

In South India, a similar tradition is observed during Onam, where King Bali is worshipped for his generosity and blessings, linking North and South Indian celebrations of the same divine legend.
