Amarnath Yatra 2025: The annual pilgrimage to the sacred Amarnath cave in the Himalayas continues to see a huge turnout, with the total number of devotees crossing 3.5 lakh as of Thursday, July 24. According to officials, more than 9,400 pilgrims paid obeisance to Lord Shiva at the 3,800-metre-high cave shrine in South Kashmir.
9,482 Pilgrims Offered Darshan in a Single DayOn Thursday alone, 9,482 yatris visited the Amarnath cave. The group included 6,805 men, 2,130 women, four transgenders, 137 children, 73 sadhus, three sadhvis, and 330 security personnel, officials confirmed. The pilgrimage, which began on July 3, 2025, continues to attract thousands of devotees each day.
Yatra Crosses 3.5 Lakh MarkWith Thursday’s count, a total of 3,52,139 pilgrims has visited the Amarnath cave shrine this year. The shrine, located in the South Kashmir Himalayas, is a revered site for Hindus, where devotees undertake the challenging trek to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva and witness the naturally formed ice Shivling.
The Amarnath Yatra is one of the most significant Hindu pilgrimages, held annually during the Shravan month. Pilgrims trek through the rugged terrain, often braving extreme weather, to offer prayers at the holy cave. The journey is not only a spiritual experience but also a symbol of faith and devotion, drawing lakhs of people from across India and abroad every year.
