The 2024 Democratic National Convention starts Monday in Chicago, featuring President Joe Biden's address on the opening night. The convention honours Biden, who recently stepped aside from his reelection bid to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the party's nominee.

Notable speakers include former Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and former First Lady Hillary Clinton, with Obama scheduled for Tuesday and Clinton for Wednesday. Vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, Governor of Minnesota, will speak on Wednesday. President Jimmy Carter’s grandson, Jason Carter, is also set to speak.

The 2024 Democratic National Convention is scheduled to run from August 19 to August 22 at the United Center in Chicago.

The 2024 Democratic National Convention will be livestreamed across multiple online platforms, including the DNC's official website, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Additionally, television channels will broadcast the convention events.

Security at the 2024 Democratic National Convention will be provided by over a dozen law enforcement agencies, including the Chicago Police Department, FBI, and Secret Service. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker confirmed that around 150 National Guard members will be present in a standby role throughout the convention.

Street closures are in effect around the United Center and McCormick Place for the 2024 Democratic National Convention, with restricted areas fenced off and requiring security screening. Additionally, several downtown Chicago streets, including Huron Street, Chicago Avenue, and State Street, are closed to manage traffic during the event. A detailed list of closures is available.
