Samsung and Tesla execs meet to discuss cooperation in high-tech

The two companies are currently seeking ways to cooperate in the development of IT-related technologies, such as semiconductors for autonomous vehicles, Samsung added.

Samsung Electronics, Tesla heads meet to discuss cooperation in high-tech

Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics' Executive Chairman Jay Y. Lee and  EV maker Tesla's CEO Elon Musk met last Wednesday on May 1o. The two CEOs discussed ways to cooperate in future high-tech industries, Samsung said in a statement on May 14.

The mobile phone manufacturer is looking to cooperate in the development of IT-related technologies, such as semiconductors for autonomous vehicles, Samsung added.

The meeting was held during Lee's trip to the United States and was the first between the heads of the South Korean chip giant and the U.S. electric-vehicle maker, the company said.

The chairman met with CEOs of global pharmaceutical and bio-venture incubation companies including Johnson & Johnson CEO Joaquin Duato, BMS CEO Giovanni Caforio and Flagship Pioneering CEO Noubar Afeyan.

A report by the Notebookcheck.com suggests that Samsung got orders for all of the Tesla Vision for Tesla's Cybertruck's Hardware 4.0 kit, the Samsung cameras were of a higher resolution than the ones the EV giant had used in the past.

Moneycontrol could not independently verify the report.
