The World Architecture Festival’s (WAF) theme for this year’s program is “50:50”. The world’s largest architectural festival and awards event is annually held in Singapore and this year’s theme takes its inspiration from Singapore’s 50th anniversary as an independent country. It will look back on how architecture and urbanism have changed during the last 50 years as well as look to future of what may change or alter in the next 50 years. The conference will revolve around three topics including Designing for Tomorrow; Imagining the Future and Cities and Urbanism. In addition to the conference, WAF includes an awards ceremony that recognizes projects across 30 categories. Shortlisted projects include projects by Foster + Partners, Zaha Hadid Architects, OMA, BIG, and Herzog & de Meuron.
