President-elect Donald Trump has selected Florida Congressman and former Army Green Beret, Michael Waltz, to serve as his national security adviser, a role that will place Waltz at the forefront of the Trump administration’s foreign policy and security strategy. The appointment, confirmed by a source close to the matter, will position Waltz to play a key role in navigating crucial international crises, including the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.

Waltz, a seasoned war veteran, and staunch Trump ally, has been an outspoken figure in Congress, advocating a strong stance on national defence and foreign policy issues. Known for his criticism of the Biden administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan and his call for a shift from diversity-focused military programs to combat readiness, Waltz’s perspectives align with Trump’s proposed foreign policy goals.
