Google says co-founder Page to replace CEO

Google Inc said co-founder Larry Page will take charge of day-to-day operations as chief executive officer starting April 4.

Google Inc said co-founder Larry Page will take charge of day-to-day operations as chief executive officer starting April 4.

Current CEO Eric Schmidt will assume the role of executive chairman.

Google also reported revenue of USD 8.44 billion in the fourth quarter, compared with USD 6.67 billion in the year-ago period.

Net revenue, excluding fees that Google paid to partner websites, was USD 6.37 billion. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S, on average, were expecting net revenue of USD 6.06 billion.
