Trucks Begin Transporting Aid From Gaza Pier

Aid deliveries began arriving at a U.S.-built pier off the Gaza Strip on Friday, as Israel faces increasing global pressure to allow more supplies into the besieged coastal enclave, which is at war with Palestinian militants Hamas and is on the brink of famine. The temporary floating pier, pre-assembled at the Israeli port of Ashdod, was moved into place on Thursday along Gaza's shore, which lacks its own port infrastructure. The Pentagon's Central Command confirmed that no U.S. troops went ashore.
