A shocking incident took place at Platform No. 5 of Jabalpur Railway Station, where a samosa vendor allegedly forced a passenger to surrender his expensive watch following a failed UPI payment.

The episode was captured on CCTV and a 34-second video shared on social media by a user named Honest Cricket Lover.

In his post, the user wrote, "Shameful incident at Jabalpur Railway Station. A passenger asked for samosas, PhonePe payment failed, and the train started moving. The samosa seller grabbed the passenger's collar, accused him of wasting time, and forced the money/samosa. The passenger had to remove his watch to catch his train. Now even travelling by train is not safe."

Moneycontrol could not independently verify the incident.

As per X post, the passenger attempted to pay via UPI, but the transaction failed. As the train began departing, the passenger rushed toward it, prompting the vendor to grab his collar. When the passenger tried to escape, the vendor allegedly took his watch by force, sparking outrage among other travelers.

Soon after, railway authorities jumped into action.

The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Jabalpur has ordered immediate action against the vendor. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) apprehended him within hours, and a case has been registered.

The DRM confirmed on social media that the vendor has been arrested, and steps are being taken to revoke his vending license. The Western Central Railway headquarters issued a statement underscoring that passenger safety is a top priority and that such anti-social behavior will not be tolerated.
