In a unique initiative, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) introduced a morning exercise session for passengers at Jodhpur Airport, aimed at promoting wellness and reducing travel-related discomfort. The initiative, reportedly the first of its kind globally, has drawn positive responses from passengers and social media users alike.

Passengers awaiting their flights were led through light stretching exercises by CISF personnel. A professor and IIT graduate shared his experience on X (formerly Twitter), posting a photo of passengers participating in the session. “One of the most interesting airport experiences happened today! The CISF security staff led the waiting passengers into a few stretching exercises before their boarding. I was sceptical but liked that it was pure stretching with no unnecessary bakwas!” he wrote.

The sessions, lasting 2–3 minutes, form part of CISF’s efforts to encourage travellers to stretch and flex their muscles before boarding, particularly during the winter months when long waiting periods and delays are more common.

Initially introduced at Jodhpur Airport, the initiative has now expanded to several other airports, including Srinagar, Dehradun, Udaipur, Gwalior, and Bhuntar. CISF personnel have been trained to guide passengers through six simple stretching exercises, including side stretches, horizontal and vertical stretches, and calf muscle stretches.

An officer told The Indian Express: “We have received an overwhelming response from passengers at airports where this routine has been introduced. During this foggy season, with frequent delays and extended sitting periods, these exercises are proving to be especially useful in improving blood circulation.”

The initiative has garnered widespread praise on social media, with many users lauding CISF for the innovative approach. "In a way its good and innovative...officer thought out of the box! Jodhpur always comes up with surprises,” one user commented on X.

Another user wrote, “Given that this isn’t mandatory and not combined with some jingoism, very very well done!”

The Airport Sector CISF acknowledged the post and expressed gratitude for the positive feedback. “Dear Passenger, Your valuable feedback is a source of inspiration for CISF personnel. Thank you very much. Wish you a wonderful day,” read their response on X.
