It is not every day that a familiar sight from one country appears in the middle of another. Yet, sometimes, a small and unexpected moment is enough to catch people’s attention and spark conversation online.

A short video showing an Indian auto rickshaw driving through a London street has caught the attention of many on social media. Shared on Instagram by Jay Dholakiya, at first, the video shows a typical London road. Cars are lined up in both lanes, trees run along the sides, and road signs can be seen in the distance.

Then, in the middle of the traffic, a black-and-yellow auto rickshaw moves steadily along with the cars. The presence of the rickshaw changes the feel of the scene, making it look less like London and more like a street in India. For many viewers, it felt closer to Delhi or Mumbai.

The text on the video read, “London turns into Delhi when you see a rickshaw on the road.” In the caption the man wrote, “UK traffic got desi update.”

The clip quickly gained attention, and users began sharing their reactions. Many expressed surprise, while others connected it to their own experiences.

Recalling a similar sight from before, one user suggested this may not be entirely new, “I saw this in Wembley long back, now that's a sight to see!” Another user shared a practical view, pointing towards possible benefits, “It’s good for UK economy people will save money and be able to buy things.”

Some comments focused on how unexpected the moment felt, “The crossover we didn't see coming.” For others, the sight brought back memories of everyday travel, “Much needed.. I've been walking for hours here. I miss riding in an auto rickshaw.”

There was also discussion on which Indian city the rickshaw belonged to. Many users pointed out that its black-and-yellow colour is usually linked to Mumbai. Noting this detail, one user said, “That's Mumbai auto-rickshaw.” Another added, “Auto rickshaw is black and yellow so that means Mumbai.”
