A man has gone viral for eating raw chicken until he gets sick. John has been devouring a raw chicken every day since January 19 to check when he gets a tummy ache. He has been documenting his mission for his followers on an Instagram page, Raw Chicken Experiment.
According to PEOPLE, John has been eating a chunk of raw meat which he pairs with various sides and seasonings. He claimed that he has not falling sick since starting the experiment. “Whenever someone tells me not to do something, it always makes me a little interested more. This time was with chicken,” he said.
He claimed that he wanted to try it and see how long he could go. Meanwhile, along with raw chicken, he also includes blended oranges, ranch dressing and pasta sauce as he attempts to recreate popular chicken dishes without an oven or stove.
I am getting organic local farm stuff which may give me a better shot," he added. I decided to make the [Instagram] page and do it in a sort of funny way, because that’s the type of content I would want to see myself. I had to step up to the plate.”
As per PEOPLE, John has also done a similar “raw meat experiment” on YouTube. However, he still has included cooked food in his diet. It has been over two weeks without any sickness but he says that “there is a possibility of getting sick”.
“If I do get sick, I’m hoping it’s just some liquid bowel movements and a minor tummy ache,” he quoted to the media outlet. “But, I’ve had tens of thousands of comments warning me that it can and will be worse. Only time will tell.”
Meanwhile, according to Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) raw chicken can be contaminated with a hoard of bacteria including campylobacter, salmonella, or clostridium perfringens germs. It can also cause foodborne illnesses.
