Southern Thailand has been reeling under severe floods triggered by torrential rains, leaving over 80 dead and affecting nearly three million people across 12 provinces, including Hat Yai, the region’s largest city.
Amid the chaos, a Malaysian man who told his wife he was on a business trip with colleagues was discovered stranded with his mistress in Hat Yai. The revelation came after a Malaysian woman, known by the handle @psmommyhannah, shared the story on social media on November 24 while posting rescue updates from the flood-hit city, South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported.
Anxious wife asks for help to check on husbandAccording to @psmommyhannah, a distressed Malaysian wife sought help to locate her husband, believing he was trapped in Hat Yai with his colleagues. The wife, pregnant with their fourth child, had been anxiously waiting for his return along with their young children.
The poster said the rescuer enlisted her relatives in Hat Yai to check the hotel where the man was reportedly staying. To their shock, they found that the man’s “colleagues” were, in fact, a woman who had been sharing the hotel room with him for four days.
Social media reacts to viral postThe post, which garnered over 5,100 likes and 500 comments, sparked debate online. “I hope you tell her, no matter how painful it may be,” one user urged. Another suggested informing a family member or friend of the wife so they could break the news gently.
The poster clarified that her intention was not to seek attention but to remind wives to “be cautious and not trust our husbands too much.” She added that the wife had no suspicions, as the husband frequently communicated with her during the trip.
Grateful for the advice, the woman said she would try to find contact details for the wife’s family before revealing the truth. SCMP reported.
