During his recent visit to India, Instagram chief Adam Mosseri engaged with local creators and culture, notably appearing on the podcast Moment of Silence, hosted by Indian creators Naina Bhan and Sakshi Shivdasani. In a light-hearted segment, Mosseri sampled a variety of Indian snacks and sweets, sharing candid reactions to each.
He began with Lay’s Magic Masala chips, remarking, “It’s tasty; I thought it was going to be crazy spicy.” He then tried Kaaju Barfi, describing it as “very tasty,” followed by laddoos, which he seemed to enjoy even more. Reflecting on how his children might react to the sweets, Mosseri said, “My kids would steal a bunch, except for the middle one, as he doesn’t like sweets.” The podcast's official handle shared a clip of this segment, captioned, "Only spicy things in store for Adam Mosseri."
Prior to this, Mosseri attended the WAVES 2025 summit in Mumbai, a global event focused on the audio-visual and entertainment industries. At the summit, he credited India with playing a pivotal role in shaping Instagram's transformation from a photo-sharing app to a video-centric global network, calling India a “leading indicator” of digital behaviour trends.
Mosseri's visit also included cultural experiences beyond the tech sphere. Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor welcomed him with homemade Puran Poli, a traditional Maharashtrian sweet, during their session at the summit. Additionally, Mosseri shared a selfie on Instagram with actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, taken during a dinner outing in Mumbai.
