A Hyderabad-based influencer, Shaikh Maryam Ali, faced widespread criticism after a video surfaced online showing her throwing coffee and shouting at a store employee inside a mall. The incident, which quickly went viral, triggered strong reactions from social media users who condemned the influencer’s behaviour and rallied in support of the staff member involved.

While the full details of the altercation remain unclear, Ali claimed that she reacted after the employee allegedly laughed at her when she entered the store. Enraged by the perceived disrespect, she threw her coffee on the floor and began yelling at the employee, as captured in the video.

The clip, which circulated across social media platforms, began with Ali angrily confronting the staff, while other employees were seen cleaning the spilled coffee. In the footage, Ali was heard saying, “That girl is stupid, totally worst experience and she is so arrogant. You know, behaviour is most important. I got angry. Is this how she greets customers? She ruined my mood. How does the company even hire such people? They have no idea how to behave with customers.”

The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter), was accompanied by a caption that read, “This is just stupid. Girls like these should be banned from malls and sent to mental institutions. Shaikh Mariyam Ali thinks she owns the whole world and everyone works for her.”

Online users responded with outrage. One user wrote, “Her access to the mall and city should be restricted. People who act like her have no place in civil society. Store owner should file a complaint and get her arrested for harassment of store staff.”

Another added, “World War 3 is going to be between Women vs. Women. Men should just sit, relax and enjoy.”

A separate comment read, “This is about a spoilt entitled brat who thinks she is papa ki pari and can do what she wants, where she wants. I don’t know what happened but throwing coffee at an employee is absurd and absolutely wrong. Needs to be banned from all Calvin Klein India stores and should be arrested for assault.”

One more person commented, “You can earn money, not class. This mall should slap a defamation case on this creature. Look at her language.”

Amid the backlash, Shaikh Maryam Ali took to Instagram to share her version of events. She stated that upon entering the store, she noticed the employee laughing at her. When she questioned the behaviour, Ali alleged that the staff responded rudely.

Ali also recounted an interaction involving some children in the store. She claimed that while she was speaking to the children and mentioning her coffee, the employee abruptly instructed the children to discard their drinks. According to Ali, the staff member then spoke to her disrespectfully, questioned her identity, and laughed at her again, which she considered unacceptable.
