Google CEO Sundar Pichai likes to keep up to date with the ever-changing landscape of tech. His morning routine is designed to that end.
Instead of starting his day with exercise or a book, Sundar Pichai likes to visit Techmeme, a tech news website. In an interview with Wired, the 51-year-old CEO of Google revealed that the first thing he does every morning is read Techmeme.
Techmeme is a technology news aggregator that provides “a summary of the day's essential reports and analysis on a single page.” Started in 2005 by Intel engineer Gabe Rivera, it has grown into a niche news provider that counts the likes of Satya Nadella and Mark Zuckerberg among its readership.
Founder Gabe Rivera explained its appeal to Business Insider. “Techmeme is the first read for execs in tech everywhere because we're dead set on providing the 'executive summary' experience they demand. For instance, importance-ranked, highly detailed headlines, alongside a density of links providing context and a sense of reach. No trivialities or clickbait. And of course, no popups, videos, or intrusive ads,” he said.
Several other aspects of Pichai’s daily routine have been revealed over the years. The Google and Alphabet CEO, for example, likes to start his day early – he typically wakes up around 6.30 am. His mornings also include reading a newspaper over a cup of tea.
