A German traveller’s first experience on an Indian train has taken social media by storm after he shared a glowing review of his Vande Bharat journey.
Content creator Alexander Welder recently travelled in the Executive Class of the semi-high-speed train and couldn’t stop praising what he called “India’s most modern train”.
“Feels Like Japan or China”
As he stepped into the coach, Alexander was struck by the clean interiors and premium layout. He compared the seating and overall design to high-speed trains in Japan and China.
What really blew him away was the extra-large overhead luggage rack, big enough to slide in a full-size suitcase without struggle, something he said is rare even in many European trains.
Rotating Seats, Dual Toilets and More: “This Is So Cool!”
One feature that instantly became his favourite was the 360-degree rotatable seat, which he and his companion happily demonstrated on camera.
He also highlighted that the Executive Class offers both Indian-style and Western-style toilets, calling it a thoughtful addition for travellers.
Executive-Class Meals Leave Him Stunned
Alexander then showcased what he received as part of his Executive Class meal plan.
His pre-ordered thali came with dal, sabzi, curry, chapati, rice and ice cream, and snacks like farsan and juice were served separately.
“How crazy is that?” he exclaimed, surprised that all of this was included in his Rs 2,100 ticket for a 5.5-hour journey.

Netizens React: “Try Maharajas’ Express Next!”
While many Indians were happy to see a foreign visitor enjoy the Vande Bharat experience, several pointed out that India has trains far more luxurious than this.
One of the social media user commented, “Try Maharajas’ Express, Golden Chariot or Palace on Wheels if you want real luxury!” Others also reminded him that Vande Bharat is not the only modern train in India — but they welcomed his positive experience.
