A recent video by a Bengaluru-based software engineer at Google has gone viral, offering an insider look into the less-celebrated perks that make the tech giant an enviable place to work.

Riddhi Dutta, a software engineer at Google, shared a video tour on Instagram, which has since racked up over thousands of views and likes. In the clip, Dutta asked, “Google food is all over Instagram, but is that the only perk worth flexing?” before diving into what he considers the top five “underrated” employee benefits.

1. Onsite spa

Dutta began by showing the in-office spa, where Googlers can earn massage credits and book full sessions without leaving the workplace.

2. Relocation support

He highlighted Google’s extensive relocation support, which includes a one- to two-month stay in a five-star hotel, a chauffeur for 30 days, help with vehicle transfers, house-hunting assistance, broker negotiation and more. Employees also have the option to take a cash bonus if they prefer to handle the move independently.

3. Device choice

Googlers can choose between a Mac, Windows Chromebook, Pixel or iPhone for their work devices. Accessories are easily available through an in-house vending machine.

4. In-house gym with trainers

The video also showcased the company’s well-equipped gym, which includes access to personal trainers and healthy food options as part of its focus on employee wellness.

5. Annual health check-up

Google’s annual medical benefits include a full-body health check-up, dental exam and even coverage for spectacles. “Even your specs are covered,” said Dutta.
