Kamal Haasan unveils Sivakarthikeyan-Sai Pallavi’s Amaran teaser

This week, the teaser of Sivakarthikeyan's Tamil-language action war film SK 21, now titled Amaran was released. Sivakarthikeyan is also the producer of PS Vinothraj's sophomore Kottukaali, which premiered at Berlin Film Festival 2024.

Celebrated Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan, known for his versatility and captivating performances, has embarked on an exhilarating new journey with his latest project, SK21, the title of which was revealed this week. Titled Amaran, the film pays homage to the indomitable spirit of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who made the ultimate sacrifice while combating terrorists in 2014.

Amid anticipation and excitement, the makers of SK21 chose the eve of Sivakarthikeyan's birthday to release a teaser that promises an adrenaline-fueled patriotic saga. The teaser showcases Sivakarthikeyan in a captivating new avatar, embodying the valour and resilience of Major Mukund Varadarajan. The teaser has already garnered significant attention, setting the stage for a gripping cinematic experience.

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, a veteran of the Tamil film industry, took to social media to unveil the poster of Amaran and extend warm birthday wishes to Sivakarthikeyan, who will be seen as an Indian Army officer stationed in Kashmir in the film. Expressing his delight at being part of the project, Kamal Haasan emphasised the significance of portraying the heroic tale of Major Mukund Varadarajan on the silver screen.

In response, Sivakarthikeyan expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to portray such a revered figure, underscoring the honour he feels in bringing Major Mukund Varadarajan's story to life.

Directed and written by Rajkumar Periyasamy, Amaran boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Sai Pallavi, Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Ajaey Naga Raaman, Mir Salman, Gaurav Venkatesh, Shreekumar, and others. With a compelling narrative and powerful performances, the film promises to captivate audiences and celebrate the courage and sacrifice of Major Mukund Varadarajan.

Bankrolled jointly by Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and R Mahendran, Amaran has already generated buzz in the industry, with Netflix securing the OTT rights for the film.

In addition to his upcoming project, Sivakarthikeyan's recent release Ayalaan has been making waves, overcoming numerous challenges during its six-year production journey. Directed by R Ravikumar and produced by Kotapadi J Rajesh, Ayalaan features an ensemble cast led by Sivakarthikeyan, Rakul Preet Singh, Yogi Babu, Karunakaran, and Sharad Kelkar, with music composed by AR Rahman.
