Superhero movie "Captain America: The First Avenger" triumphed over the US. and Canadian box offices with USD 65.8 million in weekend ticket sales, according to studio estimates released on Sunday.
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -- Part 2" finished second with USD 48.1 million as its domestic sales fell sharply from the film's record-breaking opening last weekend. Romantic comedy "Friends with Benefits" held the No 3 spot on box office charts with USD 18.5 million.
"Captain America" was released by Parmamout Pictures, a unit of Viacom Inc. Warner Bros., a unit of Time Warner Inc, distributed "Deathly Hallows - Part 2." "Friends with Benefits" is from Screen Gems, a unit of Sony Corp.
