A video from Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district moved social media users after it captured a pet dog refusing to leave his owner’s side even after the man’s demise. The incident took place in Badora village, where the dog remained beside the owner’s body.

According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Jagdish Prajapati, aged around 40 years, a resident of Badora village in MP. He was reportedly found hanging inside his house on Monday. The reason behind his death is not yet known. Police said a post-mortem examination has been conducted and a case has been registered for further investigation.

When family members and villagers reached the house, they noticed that Jagdish’s pet dog was sitting beside the body. Reportedly, the body was kept inside the house overnight, and the dog stayed beside it for the entire night.

The next morning, the body was placed on a tractor-trolley and taken to Karera for post-mortem examination. As the vehicle began moving, the dog started running behind it. The dog reportedly chased the trolley for nearly four kilometres without stopping. The dog can be seen seated in the widely shared videos. After the post-mortem, Jagdish’s body was brought back to the village for the last rites.

Videos of the incident were later shared on social media platforms and were widely circulated. One user shared the video with the caption, “Loyalty that even humans cannot set an example for…Sometimes loyalty is not expressed in words, it is shown in silence.”

Under one post, a user commented, “A dog is man's best friend.” Another user expressed, “Where is this dog today? Has someone adopted him? I would like to adopt him pls.”

Another user wrote, “This is so sad to see..Dogs are very loyal & I hope this dog finds a loving home to carry on w/o his owner.”
