The World Air Quality Report for 2023 by IQAir, a Swiss company that collects air-sensor data, found that 42 of the top 50 polluted cities globally were in India, with Begusarai in Bihar being the most polluted.

PM stands for particulate matter, with 2.5 denoting its size at 2.5 microns. The PM2.5 particulate matter is the most lethal due to its minuscule dimensions, easily entering our bloodstream, lungs and the respiratory system.
