Ahead of the annual budget presentation, Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said the BJP-led government has always tabled budgets keeping in mind the election promises.

"We have presented every budget keeping in mind the election year. Our focus has been to fulfill the promises made during the last election," Parsekar told reporters last evening on the sidelines of an event.

The budget session of the Goa Legislative Assembly is scheduled from March 14-18, while the budget is likely to be presented on March 16, he said.

Parsekar said the budget this time will be "citizen friendly and employment oriented".

"The upcoming budget would be citizen friendly with more focus on employment creation. Ours is basically a social scheme oriented state," he said.

The BJP-led government will present its fourth budget this year in its five-year tenure.
