Siddhivinayak backs govt's move to take temple gold

"Siddhivinayak is willing to do whatever is asked of us in the interest of the country," the trustee said.

The Siddhivinayak temple management has backed the government's reported move to take into possession the temple gold. The Siddhivinayak trustee has told CNN-IBN that the temple management welcomes the Prime Minister's statement.

"Siddhivinayak is willing to do whatever is asked of us in the interest of the country," the trustee said. The trustee added that the management is yet to receive a communication from the RBI in this regard.

There have been reports which said the government is mulling approaching rich temples like Tirupati, Shirdi, Siddhivinayak and Padmanabhaswamy temples which have huge gold reserves, to convert their gold into cash.
