UPA presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee will meet Uttarakhand MPs and MLAs of Congress and its allies here on July 10 to drum up support for the July 19 presidential poll.

UPA presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee will meet Uttarakhand MPs and MLAs of Congress and its allies here on July 10 to drum up support for the July 19 presidential poll.

Congress has 6 MPs, including 5 Lok Sabha members, in the state. The party has 32 MLAs in the state assembly having an effective strength of 69. Besides, all the seven non-Congress MLAs, who are coalition partners of Congress, have promised support to Mukherjee.

There are 3 MLAs of BSP, one MLA of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) and 3 Independents. Congress spokesman Rajiv Maharshi said UKD president Trivendra Singh Panwar and BSP state chief Surajmal along with their party MLAs, as also the independent MLAs have been invited for the meeting with Mukherjee.
