In a surprising move, Mathan Babu Kasilingam, chief technology and security officer (CTSO) of Vodafone Idea (Vi), has come back just three months after quitting the company.
Kasilingam announced his return on Linkedin, “I hope our paths cross again. That’s what I told everyone at Vodafone Idea Limited when I moved on. Little did I know how quickly that would come true! Life, indeed, has its way of coming back full circle. After a brief break, I’m excited to announce I’m stepping back into the Vi family."
During his previous tenure, which ended in October, Kasilingam was pivotal in strengthening Vi's technological and security frameworks, contributing significantly to the company’s transformation journey. His return is a boost to Vi’s efforts to enhance its technology infrastructure and customer-centric initiatives.
Kasilingam described his return as beginning a "2.0 journey" with a renewed mindset and a deeper appreciation for the team and its goals. “I’m excited to pick up the momentum we built together and explore new frontiers. This second innings promises to be even more impactful,” he said.
Under his leadership, the telco achieved the SOC2 Type II attestation in April this year, making it the only telecom operator in India to complete the SOC 2 Type II attestation.
The attestation was awarded after a stringent evaluation process conducted by Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) registered independent CPA and VISTA InfoSec based on the SOC 2 “Trust Service” for managing customer data on key parameters like security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
