Importing iPhone 15 from abroad? Here's what it will cost you

It's that time of the year again — a new iPhone has launched and you are considering selling a kidney in India versus going through the hassle of forcing your relatives to do a sneak-by of customs. Whichever option you pick, we have you covered. Here's what the iPhone 15 costs abroad.

Pricing in India versus abroad

Let's start with the basic iPhone 15 which starts at Rs 79,900 for the base 128GB model. By comparison, in the US, the base model starts at $799, which is around Rs 66,000.

In Dubai, the base model starts at AED 3,399, which is roughly Rs. 76,000 and in China, RMB 5,999, which is around Rs. 69,124.

The iPhone 15 Plus starts at Rs 89,900 for the base 128GB model. In the US, this will cost you $899, which is around Rs 74,000. In Dubai, the 15 Plus starts at AED 3,799, which roughly converts to Rs 85,000. In China, the Plus will cost you RMB 6,999, which roughly equates to Rs 80,000.

The iPhone 15 Pro starts at an insane Rs 1,34,900 for just the base 128GB variant. In the US, the pricing starts at $999, which is roughly Rs 82,000. In Dubai, the Pro will cost you AED 4,299, which is roughly Rs 96,000 and in China, the Pro costs RMB 7,999, which is about Rs 92,000.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at an even more insane Rs. 1,59,900 for the base 256GB model. In the US, this will cost you $1,199, which roughly amounts to Rs 99,000.

In Dubai, the Pro Max starts at AED 5,099, which is about Rs 1,15,000, and in China, RMB 9,999, which is again roughly equivalent to Rs 1,15,000.

Do note we are not taking import duties into account here, so you may need to check up a bit on the rates on importing from different countries.
