Huawei P20 Pro and P20 Lite launched in India: Get specifications, availability and price

Chinese smartphone-maker Huawei launched its flagship smartphones the P20 Pro and P20 Lite in India on Tuesday. While the Pro model has been priced at Rs 64,999, the Lite model will come at a cost of Rs 19,999. Both the phones will be available exclusively on Amazon. Although the phones will go on sale only after May 3, users can register with Amazon to receive updates on the devices by clicking the ‘Notify me’ button.

While the P20 Lite was a surprise addition to the launch, the P20 Pro was highly anticipated by many. Falling under the premium category, the Pro model is considered one of the best camera smartphones in the world. The phone with its triple rear-camera setup, recently recorded a score of 109, which according to the camera image reference website claims is "the highest ever for a mobile phone on the site".

Huawei P20 Pro specifications

The smartphone sports a 6.1 inch display with a resolution of 2,240*1,080 pixels, and density of 408 pixels per inch. The phone is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance.

It is powered by an octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 970 processor with 4 cores clocked at 2.36 GHz and 4 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and is supported by a 6GB RAM, combined with 128GB of internal storage. The phone features a Mali-G72 MP12 GPU.

The 40MP RGB camera + 20MP monochrome camera + 8MP telephoto Leica optics primary camera make the device the best camera-phone in the world. The cameras have an aperture rate of f/1.8, f/1.6 and f/2.4, respectively. On the selfie front, the P20 Pro features a 24 MP camera with an aperture rate of f/2.0.

The phone has a 4,000 mAh battery and comes in Black, Twilight, Pink Gold and Midnight Blue colours. It has an EMUI 8.1, which is based on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo OS. Additionally, the phone features a front mounted fingerprint sensor along with a 3.1 Type-C USB.

Huawei P20 Lite specifications

The Huawei P20 Lite features a 5.8 inch display with a screen resolution of 2,280*1,080 pixels and a density of 432 pixels per inch.

It is powered by the octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor with 4 cores clocked at 2.36 GHz and 4 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz and features a 4 GB RAM. It comes in two configurations of either 32GB or 64GB internal memory. The phone features a Mali-T830 MP2 GPU.

Unlike its big brother, the P20 Lite sports a modest camera configuration of 16MP + 2MP sensor duo at the rear with an aperture rate of f/2.2. However, at the front, the phone features a 16 MP camera with an aperture rate of f/2.0.

The device has a 3,000 mAh battery and is available in Klein Blue, Sakura Pink, Midnight Black colours.

To top these, the phone comes with EMUI 8.0 out of the box, which is based on Android 8.0. Other features include Type C USB 1.0 connector, NFC, gyro sensor, ambient light sensor, compass, proximity sensor among others.
