Google has introduced three new features to enhance the context and source information available for online images. The first of these features, called "About this image," which was previously announced by Google earlier this year, is now being rolled out to its Search platform.
About this image will show you a complete history of the image and its appearances on Google Search. This will help you find out if the image was published earlier on other webpages.

You will also be able to see how other sites have used the image on their pages, and pull up relevant sources on where the image has appeared before and in what context.
About this image also shows you a snapshot of the image's metadata but it requires image creators and publishers to have added that information. This will include fields that state whether the image was generated with AI.

Besides, Google is also launching Fact Check Explorer. This shows you a complete history of information from independent organizations who have investigated the image over time.
Google's Search Generative Experience (SGE) will allow users to see AI-generated descriptions of sources, along with information from other websites that talk about that particular topic. These will show up in the, "more about this page section of About this result for some sources where there isn’t an existing overview from Wikipedia or the Google Knowledge Graph"
