Apple iPhone 5s gets a big price cut in India

This is the second major price cut on the iPhone 5s in India ever since Apple introduced the iPhone 6s around four months ago.

Apple has slashed prices of its two-year old iPhone 5s in India. The phone, which was until last week was priced at Rs 35,000 onwards, now carries a price tag of Rs 22,500 for its base model. The phone, however, is available online on major e-commerce websites, including Snapdeal and Amazon, for as low as Rs 21,499.

This is the second major price cut on the iPhone 5s in India ever since Apple introduced the iPhone 6s around four months ago. The same iPhone 5s got its first major price cut in the country back in September and was being sold at Rs 35,000 onwards since then.

While Apple may have officially slashed the prices again only this week, the phone for quite some time had already been available online at prices much lower than Rs 35,000.

Apple, however, has not announced any price cut on its iPhone 6. This might be because many people are still opting for the iPhone 6 over the iPhone 6s, keeping the last generation iPhone still in demand.

Apple iPhone 5s was the company's first phone to come with its TouchID fingerprint scanner. It features a 4-inch display, an 8 megapixel iSight rear camera and a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera.
