Ankur Dhawan steps down as upGrad Abroad president

This is the second such top-level switch in 2024 at the higher education and upskilling unicorn upGrad. The company has now appointed Ankur Nyati, former COO of WhiteHat Jr and Utkarsh Classes, to take over the position effective immediately.

Ankur Dhawan, the president of upGrad Abroad, has stepped down, sources told Moneycontrol. This is the second such top-level exit in 2024 at the higher education and upskilling unicorn upGrad.

Dhawan, who has been in the position for over three years, will head a new initiative, said a source aware of the development.

This comes a month after UpGrad-owned KnowledgeHut's Chief Executive Officer, Subramanyam Reddy, moved on from the company leading it for 13 years. The edtech unicorn then appointed former Byju’s executive Asheesh Sharma to assume the position.

Moneycontrol also learnt that the company has now appointed Ankur Nyati, former COO of WhiteHat Jr and Utkarsh Classes, to take over the position effective immediately. Nyati is an IIT Delhi and IIM Bangalore alumni who has a career spanning over 20 years in various sectors.
