Amazon integrates Audible's audio books in its cheapest Kindle device

Amazon has introduced a new feature for its Kindle devices. The new Kindle Oasis and the basic Kindle model will now have built-in Audible support.

Audible is a seller and producer of downloadable spoken audio entertainment, information, and educational programming. Amazon bought the company in 2008.

Kindle Oasis, the newest Kindle model will support Audible and the user will be able to listen to books through Bluetooth headphones or speakers. The move to integrate Audible to Kindle is not surprising as Amazon owns both firms.

As per the Kindle product page, the built-in audio books feature will be available on the basic model which will get the upgrade in the coming months.

However, neither the Paperwhite nor the Voyage versions will get any such upgrades.

The new Oasis carries a larger 7-inch glare-free screen. With a storage space of 8GB and 32 GB, the model will have a far higher storage capacity than any other versions. The touchscreen device will also have built-in light sensors of 12 LEDs.

Kindle Oasis 8 GB model costs Rs 21,999 while the basic version will be available for Rs 5,999 in India.
