Since Google+ Hangouts got broadcast ability, a new platform has been created for public figures to reach out to the rest of us, including figures like the Dalai Lama.

Since Google+ Hangouts got broadcast ability, a new platform has been created for public figures to reach out to the rest of us, including figures like the Dalai Lama. His Holiness already has a pretty large social media presence with a Twitter account(http://twitter.com/#!/DalaiLama) and a Facebook fan page (https://www.facebook.com/DalaiLama) each with over 2 million followers and fans respectively, and now he's on Google+. One of the orders of business on Google+ was a video post of the Dalai Lama wishing the South African Archbishop and activist, Desmond Tutu happy birthday yesterday on the 7th of October. Tutu rose to fame in the 1980s, when he worked as an activist fighting apartheid.
