While there’s no official date of Intel’s upcoming Sandy Bridge E processors, manufacturers are showing off motherboards based on the X79 chipset. Gigabyte is one of the major motherboard manufacturers and their G1 series line of enthusiast class models will also have an additional member to the family soon. Their G1.Assassin 2 line of motherboards will use the X79 chipset and should be aimed at the enthusiast and gamer audience. Gigabyte has shown off a few photos of their upcoming motherboard. It’s hard to know all the details of the board but some of the obvious ones are the fact that the motherboard will have the Bigfoot Killer E2100 NIC and Creative’s X-Fi audio processor. Being a high-end enthusiast-class motherboard, there’s also the fancy heatsinks placed all around the motherboard, including one that's in the shape of a gun.
