Apple's Mac App Store gathers 10,000 apps

The Mac App Store launched on the 6th of January, 2011 with 1,000 apps to begin with, and about a year and four months after release, the Store has amassed 10,000 apps. The report comes via a French website, Mac Generation, which reports that the Store has passed the 10,000 apps number. They say, by comparison, the iOS App Store contains over 6,00,000 applications. MacRumors says that their sister site, AppShopper confirms the milestone saying that it's indexed 10,339 applications in the Mac App Store. While, of course, the Mac App Store has a signicantly lower number of applications than what's offered in the iOS App Store, the latter has been around for longer and the Mac App Store isn't doing too bad for itself in download numbers.
