When Apple announced the iPhone 5, the new iPod touch devices launched at the same event too received a warm welcome. However, a feature that is missing with the device is that it does not come equipped with an ambient light sensor. The lack of this feature has bemused a lot of early adopters, and one such user has written an email to Apple executive Phil Schiller inquiring why this feature was not present in the device. Apple’s Phil Schiller has replied explaining that the iPod touch does not come with an ambient light sensor because the device is too thin for it.As per a report by iDownloadblog, the author states that Apple had emphasised the lack of an ambient light sensor in the fifth generation iPod touch after initially highlighting the omission in its iPod touch fifth generation review.
