HP India launches a music service for its notebooks

HP India has launched HP Connected Music, a service that claims to give Indian consumers choice and access to global and regional digital music and content.

HP India has launched HP Connected Music, a service that claims to give Indian consumers choice and access to global and regional digital music and content. HP India has joined forces with Universal Music India and Hungama.com to offer the subscription-based service, which provides downloadable music free of charge for one year. After a year, users can opt for a rental plan to continue using the service. The service is available on select HP notebooks with the imbedded Windows 8 launcher.According to the company, the service has been introduced in India to provide HP customers exclusive content and access to Hungama.com and Universal Music's catalogue, which the company claims includes over one million songs from more than 20,000 artists from different genres, including Bollywood, Devotional, Rock, Classic, Hip Hop, Jazz, Regional, R&B, and Country among others.
