The rumour mill has gone into overdrive once again with companies pushing an increasing number of top end products into their smartphone pipeline. The rumours this time around are about LG planning a new smartphone built with parts manufactured by subsidiaries LG Display, LG Chem and LG Innotek. As reported by The Chosunilbo, this is expected to be the first LG-powered smartphone that will come with a quad core processor and a camera with a resolution of 10 megapixels. It’s interesting to note here that we already have the Xperia S in the market, that comes with a 12MP camera. LG Chairman Koo Bon-moo had earlier complained that the company itself did not utilise the parts that its subsidiaries were manufacturing, in spite of them being popular with other competing smartphone companies. For example, LG Display and LG Chem have been supplying parts to rival Apple.
