CyanogenMod 10 port brings Jelly Bean to LG Optimus S

July 24, 2012 / 12:05 IST

The LG Optimus S has received an unofficial upgrade to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean via a direct CyanogenMod 10 port. Even though it may be a work-in-progress build, this is definitely good news for those who want to tinker and tweak around with their old but functional Optimus S. This 4.1.1 port brings quite a few working bits while some are still untested or not working. The calling functionality of the phone, including the microphone, has been tested and is working. Sending and receiving SMSs is working as well. Connectivity options including 3G data and Wi-Fi are working, along with GPS support. The couple of sensors on board, accelerometer and proximity sensor have been tested to work and also the graphics acceleration for the user interface.
